One year ago, Legacy Place emerged as the newest assisted living in Breese and the first in Clinton County to have a community with the added feature of a secured assisted living memory care wing. They celebrated their anniversary August 16th with a carnival themed party.
Bright colored balloons adorned all of the tables with red and white canopies hovering over all of the delicious carnival food, everything from corndogs and cheesy nachos to pretzel sticks and watermelon. The community was filled with residents and family members reminiscing of their time at Legacy Place and of laughter from all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren participating in the carnival games. The tattoos, Ring Toss and Bozo Bucket Bonanza were a hit, but as for the knock-out excitement of the day it was a tie between the outside train rides around the community and the balloon “gal.”
The little ones were on cloud nine chugging along in the train and enjoyed all of the character balloons and balloon hats that included Ninja Turtles, puppy dogs and even the Little Mermaid. Wafting through the air was the smell of fresh popcorn and real cotton candy made by the Legacy Place staff. It was a true carnival experience but most of all a celebration of a GREAT first year!
“We began our Legacy Place journey with a clear destination in mind and that was to offer the very best senior living in Breese and the surrounding area. We were guided by our passion to accommodate the growing needs of all the wonderful people we serve while preserving the security, integrity and reliability of the traditional assisted living community and remained focused on top-notch care,” explained Michelle McKinney, co-owner and president of Legacy Place.
McKinney added, “As I reflect on our first year here in Breese, I am so proud and know that every day our fabulous team works hard to fulfill the Legacy Place mission. Many people ask me what the difference is between Legacy Place and other assisted livings and I think people expect me to talk about the extra services that we offer. While I believe those are a plus, my true feelings are that Legacy Place sees very clearly the value of putting a hand on someone’s arm, looking them in the eye and connecting with them. We strive to build a bond, affirm your trust, build emotional connections with our residents and family members and assure them there is real value in our commitment.”
Legacy Place feels blessed that the Breese community has been so welcoming and supportive this past year. “Whether you’ve been with us from the start or have just begun your journey with Legacy Place, we thank all of you for being a part of our family,” stated McKinney.
